The Student Government Association has been working for the last year with groundskeeping faculty and administration to increase the natural beauty of Cleveland State's campus. With limited room in the downtown area, the Student Government Association understands the value in developing places on campus that will have both active use from the student body and opportunity to increase both social and economic value as time goes on. The largest of these developments is the much-anticipated transformation of the Engineering Lawn into a fully self-sustaining student park and public space.
Developments on the Engineering Lawn would consist of: The planting of 20+ trees around the perimeter of the lawn, installation of new benches dedicated to volunteers and donors, installation of new light fixtures to increase the safety of the area, and the paving of a path that goes through the lawn rather than around it. In the future, this fund will also serve to plant flowers in designated lots on the western side of the lawn and uproot old trees that have become a potential hazard to students using the space.
With your donation, The Student Government Association is able to move one step forward in their goal to express the beauty of our university. By securing the beauty of our campus, we further ensure that students feel at home while attending Cleveland State and have an increased opportunity to obtain the “college experience” that is ever so sought after on our urban campus. By helping students plant their roots today, you will give them the opportunity to grow for years to come.
