The School of Nursing, founded in 1973, is committed to excellence in nursing education, research and service. The bachelor’s and master’s degree programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and, according to U.S. News and World Report, the Master of Science in Nursing ranks among the best in the nation. Additionally, the school has a 90% first-time passage rate for the prelicensure programs on the National Council Licensure Examination. The school launched the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program in Fall 2019 preparing practice leaders as Family Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and Health Systems Leadership.
The school fully embraces Engaged Learning, which combines higher education with hands-on, real-world experience. In a city renowned for world-class health-care, CSU partners with local clinical agencies that are acute care and community based care delivery systems to offer unparalleled clinical placements to learners to meet the growing demand for nurses in the 21st century.
