Building A Community Of Learners Fund: Graduation Coaching, Living & Learning, and Summer Enrichment
Overview:
Your contribution will help us support students who are the first to attend college, graduated from a CMSD high school or experience barriers that prevent them from attending and graduating from college. Our mission is to provide equitable access and opportunities for the most marginalized students to achieve their educational and career goals and graduate from CSU. Our goal is to ensure that all students have a quality educational experience at CSU. Under the direction of Mr. Nicholas Petty, the Graduation Coaching Office, CSUs Living Learning Communities, and the Summer Bridge Enrichment Academy provides students a quality experience by establishing improved systemic access, wrap around support, and enrichment that will result in equitable educational opportunities, increased decisions to return to college and graduation rates.
Program Descriptions:
GRADUATION COACHING
Through Graduation Coaching, we help students navigate the connections between their lives and the college environment to make learning personally meaningful and advance their academic and professional careers. The emphasis of the approach is student advocacy that focuses on helping students overcome barriers, both academic and non-academic, to success.
CSUs LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITIES
Living Learning Communities provide Cleveland Metropolitan School District graduates studying at CSU with two years of free on-campus housing, wrap around services and mentoring support. This investment is aligned with the Say Yes to Education that provides every public high school graduate access to college by providing tuition scholarships. This program seeks to assists students, who otherwise would not have the opportunity, to graduate on time with less debt.
SUMMER BRIDGE ENRICHMENT ACADEMY
We provide a 3-week on-campus enrichment academy that will help students and their families prepare to begin college. We integrate enrichment courses and a residential experience and provide additional incentives and resources that will best support student transition from high school to college. This type of on-campus experience helps students maximize their academic potential their first year and throughout their college career at Cleveland State University.
