This fund serves to prepare individuals for effective and ethnical leadership in the public sector, through experience in hands-on, high level assignments at public sector workplaces. Fellows will gain insight into how public processes unfold, garner a deeper understanding of the community and build an extensive professional network-all of which will enhance their ability to become agents of change for Greater Cleveland. The fund was established in recognition of U.S. Rep. Steven LaTourette, a 1979 CMCL graduate, who served Ohio’s 14th Congressional District from 1995-2013. He is widely credited with leading the successful effort to save more than 1,000 jobs at Cleveland’s Defense Finance and Accounting Services and in assisting auto dealers impacted by the bankruptcy and bailout of GM and Chrysler.
